Benjamin Robert Haydon was a titan of 19th-century British art, an obsessive historical painter whose life was a chaotic symphony of grand ambition and crushing debt.
A confidant to John Keats and a vocal antagonist of the Royal Academy, Haydon’s story is one of a visionary artist literally dying for his craft.
This film reimagines Haydon’s tragic arc through a contemporary, experimental lens.
By utilizing AI generated imagery and an original AI composed score, the production traces the artist’s obsessive pursuit of "the Grand Style"
and his eventual descent into madness. It is a vivid journey into the mind of a man who believed art was a matter of life and death—until it finally was.
